Quick answers

1. How do I pin a tab?

Right-click anywhere on the page and select "PermaPin this tab", or use the keyboard shortcut:

  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift ⇧ + P
  • Windows / Linux / ChromeOS: Ctrl + Shift + P

You'll see the badge count increase when the tab is pinned.

2. How do I unpin a tab?

Use the same method you used to pin it:

  • Right-click on the page → "PermaPin this tab" again, or
  • Use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P, or
  • Open the PermaPin popup and click the colored pin next to the URL.

When a tab is unpinned, it will no longer return automatically after restart.

3. My tabs aren't restoring after Chrome restarts. What's wrong?

A few things to check:

  1. Make sure PermaPin is enabled in chrome://extensions.
  2. Confirm that the tabs you expect to restore are actually PermaPinned (check the popup list).
  3. Try un-pinning and re-pinning the affected tabs.
  4. Ensure Chrome isn't running in Guest mode or with extensions disabled.

If it still doesn't work, email us at hello@permapin.com with:

  • Your Chrome version
  • Your operating system (macOS / Windows / Linux / ChromeOS)
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened

4. How do I activate PermaPin Pro?
  1. Open the PermaPin extension popup and click "Upgrade to Pro".
  2. Complete checkout through our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy).
  3. You'll receive a license key by email.
  4. Return to the popup, click "Upgrade to Pro" again, paste your license key, and click "Activate".

Once activated, you'll see Pro features (custom colors, auto-pin domains, backup/restore, etc.) unlocked.

5. I lost my PermaPin Pro license key. What do I do?

No stress — we can resend it.

Email hello@permapin.com with:

  • The email address you used to purchase
  • Approximate purchase date (if you remember)

We'll look up your order and resend your license key. You never need to buy a second time just because you lost the email.

6. Can I use PermaPin Pro on multiple computers?

Yes, within reason.

A single PermaPin Pro license is intended for your personal use across your own devices (for example: work laptop + home desktop).

To move your pins between devices:

  1. On device A, use Export backup in the popup.
  2. On device B, install PermaPin, activate Pro with your license key, then Import backup.

If you want to use PermaPin across a team or company, please contact us at hello@permapin.com about team licensing.

7. Can I get a refund?

Yes. PermaPin Pro includes a 30-day money-back guarantee.

If you're not happy for any reason, email hello@permapin.com with your order details and we'll issue a full refund — no questions asked.

8. Does PermaPin work on Brave / Edge / other Chromium browsers?

PermaPin is built for Chromium-based browsers. It should work on:

  • Google Chrome
  • Brave
  • Microsoft Edge (Chromium)
  • Vivaldi, Opera (most recent versions)

Functionality is best on Chrome, since that's where we test first. If something doesn't work in your browser, email us and we'll see if we can reproduce it.
